Revelation, Not RevelaTIONS!

Part of my personal devotions lately is listening to the sermon series on the Book of Revelation by Arturo Azurdia III. I appreciate that he starts his series, not with Revelation 1:1, but with 1 Corinthians 13. (For those who don’t know, that’s the chapter on love that seems ubiquitous during weddings.)

Why start with Corinthians when preaching on Revelation? One thing we Reformed people seem to forget is that a little extra knowledge puffs up. That’s just a little knowledge; can you imagine what a huge amount can do?

Somebody has to pull a lot of us down and remind us to be humble and loving in our dealing with people. Let’s remember that without love, we are merely clanging cymbals. A very hard lesson for most of us (me included), is to remember to practice love as you continue to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Here’s the link to the sermon series. There are over eighty sermons in total.

Enjoy His word.
