Kimi Dora

I have to say it’s not everyday that I get to watch a Filipino movie. I know there are people who would say that it would be my loss, but I just don’t see myself gravitating towards home-grown movies. This is not to say that I don’t see any redeeming factor among locally made films. I have seen several that I believe are very well-made–they had good stories, great acting, and they make you think. (Ploning comes to mind.)

HSAT, I just watched Kimi Dora a while ago–my wife had it on her portable hard disk and we connected it to our DVD player. The movie…worked for me. In a way. One scene which kept me laughing, even after the movie ended, was the tsinelas (slipper) scene. If you’ve watched the movie, you know what I’m talking about.

Now I’m laughing every five minutes whenever I remember that tidbit.
