It’s been a busy week, what with the exams and checking papers (I’m not even halfway through), plus other things that needed preparation.
I have an important appointment on Thursday next week (February 3). God willing, the appointment will be successful. My beloved M and I are planning for the coming summer, and Option A (my favorite among the many options within the plan) depends on the outcome of said appointment.
The anticipation reminds me of several quotes from men of the past:
“Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” ~ John Lennon, songwriter.
“Happy people plan actions, they don’t plan results.” ~ Dennis Wholey.
“Everyone has a plan–until they get punched in the face.” ~ Mike Tyson, boxer.
Of course, nothing comes close to this one:
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit,” yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” (James 4:13-15)
