(Or maybe it isn’t so simple.)
Today, my beloved M and I decided to have tahong or mussels for lunch. That was right after we wanted clam soup for lunch but couldn’t find any after circling the market several times. The mussels we got weren’t the biggest I’ve seen but since we hadn’t had any mussels for over a year(!) we decided mussels were better than the non-existent clams.
We ended up buying the last 1-1/4 kilos of the shellfish from our fishmonger. The picture below shows the remains (yup, those are just the shells) of our mussel lunch, complete with the veggie side dish and our respective “dips.” (Guess which one’s mine.)
I can’t believe we finished the whole thing.
